Architecture studio
We are an architectural studio seeking to create an intimate connection between our creative vision of architecture, entrepreneurship, and the meticulous execution of projects. We are committed to creating harmonious spaces that thrive in symbiosis with their environment. Our approach combines creativity, respect for the environment, and a pursuit of timelessness. Miel stands for the honey of a space that nurtures life.
Originally from Colombia and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, I studied architecture at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. My studies, travels, and projects were formative years that allowed me to build a deep connection with my home country. Today, I maintain a strong personal and professional relationship with Colombia. Throughout my travels, I’ve also had the chance to live and work on projects in natural and remote environments. These experiences deepened my love for nature and instilled in me a passion for wood, the preservation of traditional cultures, and an organic, creative, and contemporary approach to architecture. Since returning to Switzerland, Jeff and I have founded an architecture studio with the aim of bringing our shared dreams to life and combining our strengths around projects, particularly in the transformation of real estate in the canton of Valais. Azuu is a Colombian architecture studio with which we collaborate, and whose name means « home ». Miel de Azuu is the result of this collaboration between our studios ~ an expression of the vision and identity we cultivate in each of our projects.
Originally from Switzerland, I have a bachelor's degree from the University of St. Gallen, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). My passion for architecture has been nurtured by my deep love for the mountains and landscapes of Valais, a region I have come to know and appreciate through my practice of various mountain sports. It is in this unique environment that I developed my dream of living in and renovating traditional “mazots” (Swiss mountain huts), preserving their identity and culture while infusing them with modernity that respects the past. Together with Sebastian, we decided to make this shared dream a reality. We seek to breathe new life into these traditional spaces while respecting principles of sustainability and integration with their environment.
